DRIVE
September 24, 2003
Process for regulating an electric assisted boosting system (12) for an I.C. engine (1) comprises operating the charging system with high power when the required fuel flow exceeds a fuel flow limiting value depending on the engine speed and the charging pressure, and restoring the charging system to an idling operation when a desired charging pressure depending on the engine speed and the desired engine fuel flow. An Independent claim is also included for an electric assisted boosting system. Preferred Features: The power supply to the charging system is reduced or interrupted when the engine speed of the charging system exceeds a maximum value, the supply voltage of the charging system does not reach a minimum value and/or when exhaust gas is recycled.
