Each of the fenders has a platform portion (17) extending toward the inside of the engine compartment (12), and a longitudinal wall portion (19) extending downward from an inner edge (17a) of the platform portion (17) and joined to a reinforcing member (23) in the engine compartment (12). The longitudinal wall portion (19) is slanted in the vehicle transverse direction. In another embodiment the longitudinal wall portion (19) has a lower rigidity than an edge portion of the hood (13).
