The pneumatic suspension unit for a vehicle comprises an upper (101) and a lower (102) air spring. The lobe (116) of the upper spring rolls over that (124) of the lower and the two springs are connected by a two-way throttle channel (108). The cap (104) of the top spring is connected to the base of the piston (128) in the lower by an external connector.
