Low pressure exhaust gas recirculation system
DRIVE
September 3, 2003
The engine (4), designed to recirculate a proportion of its exhaust gases, is fed with air through an inlet duct with a compressor (2) and has its exhaust gases evacuated by a turbine (5) and a pollution reducter (6) e.g. in the form of a catalytic converter, filter or NOx absorber. It has an exhaust gas recirculation pipe (9) with a valve (8), taken from a branch after the pollution reducer, with the pressure difference between the inlet (10) and outlet (11) ends of the pipe controlled by a shutter situated downstream of the pipe's inlet branch and which can be incorporated in a silencer. The recirculated exhaust gases are cooled by a coolint unit (3) located after the compressor (2).
