Vehicle body area with an insert accessible by means of a recess

The body section of a motor vehicle has an inner and outer skin (1) in which is a recess (2) to gain access to an insert (3) serving especially as a recessed grip. The edge section (9) of the insert facing the outer skin is covered by a stop (11) on the outer skin, bounding the recess and pointing in the direction of the inner skin. A cylinder lock is installed in the insert. A transversely extending pivot point (5) is fitted in the insert for a cover flap (4) which in its closed position has an edge section (12) pointing in the direction of the inner skin and enclosed by the stop.
