Vehicle axle element with bearing arm and axle tube connected therewith

The vehicle axle assembly has a tubular axle body (1) with a bonded carrier arm (2) across it. The carrier arm has a support section (3) with a recess (5) to accommodate the axle. The recess has a spherical projection (10) to fit into an indent (11) in the axle body to lock it into position. The axle body indent is formed by local heat, and a press mold is forced against the surface to shape the recessed zone which is complementary to the support projection.
