Exhaust system
DRIVE

A process regenerates an automotive diesel engine particle filter. The automotive diesel motor (1) has an exhaust system (6) with a particle filter (9), fuel injection unit (12) and motor control unit (13). The exhaust system has an oxidizing catalytic converter (8) located upstream of the particle filter. In fuel-rich operating mode, the mixture supplied is not significantly linked to actual or target torque value. The catalyst (8) discharges to the exhaust gas system at the rate required oxidize fuel particles in the exhaust system and particle filter. The exhaust gas mixture is varied by injecting fuel at a point which does not increase motor torque. The oxidizing agent is air delivered by a blower (3) immediately upstream of the catalyst. An Independent claim is also included for a regeneration assembly.
