  "textContent": "An object of the present invention is to provide an cylinder injection type spark ignition engine capable of realizing stratified charge combustion with high robustness without resorting to a tumble produced in a combustion chamber. The cylinder injection type spark ignition engine includes a fuel injection valve (9) for directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber (4). The fuel is injected into the combustion chamber during a compression stroke by the fuel injection valve, and a fuel-air mixture is fired by an ignition plug (10) to perform stratified charge combustion. The fuel injection valve (9) generates, separately from an air flow supplied to the combustion chamber through an intake port, a lead spray (13) supplied in a direction toward the ignition plug prior to succeeding ignition fuel spray (14). A fuel-air mixture evaporated from the ignition fuel spray is led by the lead spray (13) and is supplied to the ignition plug at ignition timing.",
