Driver assistance system

The assistance system (10) has sensors for detecting straying off track (20), probable collision hazard (24) and detecting the level of driver fatigue (16), i.e. drowsiness. A control unit (12) can initiate three levels of alarm, an optical alarm (28), an acoustic alarm (32) and an alarm by initiating seat or steering wheel vibration.
