Holding device for a vehicle battery

The holder unit (1) for the battery of a motor vehicle is fitted on a support plate (2) and has a hinge fitted on the underside and brought into locking engagement with the support plate and pivotable around its longitudinal axis. The hinge has a central threaded hole, and a retaining clamp (5) also with a central hole is fastened to the hinge by means of a fixing screw (6). The underside of the retaining clamp has locking lugs which engage in locking faces of the support plate, and the hinge together with the retaining clamp is brought into a battery holding position.
