Cylinder head gasket
DRIVE
May 7, 2003
A cylinder head gasket (1A-1F) for an internal combustion engine has a plurality of holes to be sealed, and includes a first metal plate (10) having first holes (50, 50A, 50B) and first beads (11, 11A, 11B) formed around the respective first holes, and a second metal plate (30) disposed under the first metal plate and having a second bead (31, 31A, 31B) surrounding a second hole. At least a distance (C, CA) between the first and second beads or a width (B1, B2, BA1 BA2) of at least one of the first and second beads at a high heat load portion is formed to be greater than at least a distance (C, CB) between the first and second beads or a width (BB1, BB2) of at least one of the first and second beads at a low heat load portion. A surface pressure at the high heat load portion is reduced when the gasket is compressed.
