Vehicle engine control

The system (62) has an adjustment apparatus (69) connected to an electronic engine controller (60). The controller has a memory to store a power curve or a power curve algorithm responsive to predetermined operating conditions. A series of control signals based on the power curve is sent to the adjustment apparatus to provide pro-active incremental changes in power output corresponding to load of an engine. An Independent claim is also included for a method for controlling power output of an engine.
