Metal gasket with partial coating

A metal gasket (1) is formed of a metal base plate (10) for sealing between two members. The metal gasket (1) has a bead (12) around a cylinder bore (2) and a bead (13) around a fluid hole (3) on the metal base plate (10). Coatings (30a, 30b) are applied on both surfaces of the beads (12, 13), respectively. When the metal gasket (1) is tightened, strong sealing surface pressures are locally generated at sealing line portions (A, B, C) of the beads (12, 13). The coatings (30a, 30b) are applied only on other portions except for the sealing line portions (A, B, C).
