"textContent": "The combustion stage in the Otto cycle of an internal combustion motor, with direct fuel injection, has the fuel injected into the cylinder (1) in a double-cone spray formation (2) from a multi-jet fuel injector (7). The fuel spray at the jet side is at an angle of 35-55 degrees in the upper partially-loaded part of the cylinder and then at a sharp angle into the piston head trough (3), when the motor (1') is in a lean running mode. The major portion of the fuel remains as a cloud within the piston head trough, with a piston setting of 90-35 degrees , and a portion is thrown back through the spray pulse. The fuel at the trough is moved towards the ignition (6) to prevent trough wall deposits, while a twisting stream of combustion air is directed at the piston head trough with a twist of ≤ 2.5.",
