Child car seat

This child's safety seat (1) consists of a seat (2), a backrest (4) and a headrest (6), which can be fixed or height adjustable. The backrest (4) and headrest (6) are both provided with side support cheeks (36,37) to support the child's head and torso. The rear surface (21) of the headrest is provided with a fastener in the form of an adjustable strap which can be fitted tightly round the support columns for the vehicle rear seat headrest so that the safety seat is held in position with a minimum of side movement at all times. The side support cheeks (36,37) are padded so that, during a side impact, the impact forces on the child are reduced.
