In a lamp lighting and battery charging control system for conducting lighting a lamp (5) and charging a battery (3) using an AC voltage generated by an electric generator (2) driven by an internal combustion engine, in order to prevent the battery charging from undesirably affecting the lamp lighting, a lamp lighting control circuit (7) changes a turn-on timing of a switch element (SCR2) between the lamp (5) and the electric generator (2) depending on a signal indicating a state of another switch element (SCR1) between the battery (3) and the electric generator (2).
