Electrode/separator composites comprising lithium intercalating electrode(s) with a polymer matrix and a polyolefin separator are produced by hot lamination at a temperature near the melting or softening point. A method for the production of electrode/separator composites for electrolytic elements, comprising: (a) lithium intercalating electrode(s) with a polymer matrix containing finely-dispersed, polymer-insoluble electrochemically active material; and (b) a polyolefin separator, involves hot lamination at a temperature near the melting or softening point of at least part of the electrode surface and/or part of the separator surface. An Independent claim is also included for electrolytic elements with electrode/separator composite(s) made by the method described above.
