Processing of navigation information

The navigation system (100) includes an information server apparatus (110), a terminal apparatus (120) for conducting navigation processing while conducting communication with the information server apparatus (110), and a vehicle navigation apparatus (140) mounted on a vehicle (101) to conduct navigation processing independently of the information server apparatus (110). During execution of the navigation processing in the terminal apparatus (120), detection is effected to determine whether the vehicle navigation apparatus (140) is started. Upon detecting that the vehicle navigation apparatus (140) has been started, information for the navigation processing conducted until then is transferred to the vehicle navigation apparatus (140). The vehicle navigation apparatus (140) conducts navigation processing by using the transferred information.
