The volumetric flowrate (VS) is determined from a second magnitude (W2, F1, F2). This characterizes the flow resistance of a second component (120), e.g. an exhaust silencer, of the exhaust system. Independent claims are included for corresponding equipment and for a computer code product carrying out the determination for control purposes.
