Method for controlling the injected fuel quantity in an internal combustion engine

DRIVE March 19, 2003
Source
To control the volume of fuel injected directly into the combustion zones of an internal combustion motor, in a stratified operation, a maximum and/or minimum permissible fuel volume (30,38) is established on a change of torque demands. The maximum/minimum permissible values are dependent on one or more operating parameters (12,16,20), where their change in values is not synchronous with the working play. A nominal injected fuel volume value (48) is defined by the minimum and maximum permissible values. The parameters include the fresh air flow, the exhaust gas return rate, the fuel pressure and the setting of the speed control flap.
