The releasable linking unit (10) has a hook control portion that has a guide mechanism for guiding a hook between locked position and unlocked position. The guide mechanism is designed to bias two supports against one another when the hook is fully displaced into locking position. When in locked position, the hook is engaged in a catch component. When in unlocked position, the hook is released from the catch component. The guide mechanism has a link mounted to articulate relative to the second support about a first axis, and on which the hook is articulated about a second axis. The two axes are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the displacement direction. The second axis is located on either side of a dead center point when the hook is in locked position. When the hook is in unlocked position, the dead center point is disposed opposite the first axis relative to the catch component. The hook has a portion that cooperates with the catch component, and is joined to the second support. The two supports are fixed to the frame (4) and roof (6) of a motor vehicle (2), and applied one against the other when the roof and frame are linked. An Independent claim is included for the motor vehicle.
