Exhaust emission control device of engine
DRIVE
March 12, 2003
An exhaust emission control device comprises a particulate filter (44) for re-burning deposited soot, a temperature sensor (53) for detecting the exhaust gas temperature on the upper-stream side of the particulate filter (44), and a control unit (16) for determining whether or not a condition for the interruption of regeneration is fulfilled. An intake pipe (30) of an engine is provided with a throttle (33). The control unit (16) works the throttle (33) to reduce the quantity of intake air if a preset temperature is exceeded by the exhaust gas temperature on the upper-stream side of the particulate filter (44) during a compulsive regeneration process. Thus, the particulate filter can be prevented from overheating.
