Electrical device for unlocking a seat track

DRIVE March 12, 2003
Source
An actuator such as an electromagnetic jack pushes a transverse bar (5) which is attached to a cam (6a) free to rotate about a seat pivot (15a). The rotation of the cam depresses a push plate (7a) which lowers push plate teeth (9) from fixed seat slider slots (10) to allow the seat to be manually adjusted by movement of the mobile slider (2c) on the fixed slider (2a). After adjustment the jack is released and the teeth return to the slots.
