Electronic ballast

The electronic system has an inverter (1) that is coupled by an electronic switch (2) to a dc power supply. This provides an ac supply for an electroluminescent foil that is coupled to terminals (E1,E2). Coupled to the inverter is a diagnostic circuit (8) that detects a failure in the electro luminescent lighting and switches to back up.
