The windscreen wiper assembly comprises a sheet metal mounting (10), attached to the car bodywork, which has a funnel-shaped section (16), in which a pre-assembled drive shaft unit (42) fits. This has a plastic housing (26) with a conical top whose lower edges (34) are supported by the top surfaces (14, 36) of the sheet metal mounting.
