Method and apparatus for controlling fuel metering in an internal combustion engine

The control method measures the fuel using at least two partial fuel injections. In each of at least two calculating steps, at least one control value of a partial fuel injection is determined. The respective calculation steps are executed if a status register has a predetermined pattern. Independent claims also cover an apparatus for carrying out the method.
