Protective sleeve for airbag

The protective cover for an airbag takes the form of an endless-filament fleece with a specific areal weight of 60 to 200 g/m, with the fleece made up of melt-spun, stretched endless filaments with a titer of 1.5 to 5 dtex, and preferably 2.4 to 3 dtex. The fleece is compacted by high-pressure water jets, and is possibly subjected to a preliminary compacting process.
