Motor vehicle with movable roof

The convertible has a sliding roof made up of a front (10) and a rear (12) section. These are stored in a swiveling console (20) with lid (18). The rear section of the roof can be slid forward out of the swiveling path (21) when the console is open and the roof is in the closed position to assist fitting it into the console.
