Load carrying vehicle
DRIVE
February 12, 2003
A load-carrying vehicle 10, for example a forward tipping dumper truck, has a load platform 22. A frame 30 is mounted on the platform 22, in place of the conventional bucket. The frame (Figure 2) has a base part 32 and a back part 34. The base part is pivoted to the load platform on the existing pivot position 26,46. The back part is hinged to the base part and can move between one end position at right angles to the base and an opposite end position lying on top of the base part. The back part has hooks 58 at its free ends, to pick up external implements or accessories. Hydraulic rams 28,60 power the titling movement of both the base part on the platform and the back part on the base part.
