Method and device for controlling a drive unit of a vehicle

The drive control method has a setting element determining the power delivered by the drive. It is controlled in dependence on a filtered power signal provided by an operating element. The filtering ensures that the variation in the power signal lies within a range defined by at least one threshold value, dependent on an operating point defined by the power signal.
