Sliding console for a vehicle

The longitudinally-sliding container (9), displaced relative to the floor pan (8) of the passenger compartment between the front passenger seats along a rail (11) and received within the dashboard panel (4) in a stowed position. The rail may incorporate a current feed for supplying electrical devices fitted in the container.
