Air intake system for internal combustion engines

DRIVE January 29, 2003
Source
The system has two-part air intake channels (10,12), a first part (18) with air intake, and a second part (20,22) with air outlet (30,32), which is pivoted via two axis (34,36) born in pivot axis bearings. Two bearings for each of the two axis are contained in a one-part bearing unit (44). The pivot bearings are formed by bearing sleeves, and the bearing unit has a common wall between the sleeves. The bearing unit is mainly 8-shaped. It is positioned in the stationary channel part and connected to it at least partially via plastic cast around it.
