Antilock braking system
DRIVE
January 22, 2003
An axle modulator (8) serves two brake cylinders for one axle. Wheel modulators (18,19) each serve a wheel on another axle. The axle modulator has two electric control connections (28,29) and an earth connection. The anti-locking braking system (ABS) is controlled by four-channel ABS electronics (1) that have four control channels with four final stages (20-23) for triggering a maximum of four modulators. Each final stage has an amplifier for inlet (EV) and outlet (AV) valves on the modulator to be connected.
