An outboard motor which includes a driving motor, a switching device (13), an impeller (15) and a blade casing (8). The switching device (13) switches rotation of a drive shaft (12) of the driving motor between normal and reverse directions. The impeller (15) is rotated with a driven shaft (14) connected to the switching device (13). The blade casing (8) includes a first duct member (19a) and a second duct member (20a). The first duct member (19a) has a first opening (18) through which water is sucked from the outside when the impeller (15) is rotated in the normal direction. The second duct member (20a) connected to the first duct member (19a) encloses the impeller (15), and has a second opening (21) through which water is sucked from the outside when the impeller (15) is rotated in the reverse direction.
