The receiver is tuned for receiving a number of different reception frequencies, with information relating to the identity of the transmitter for each frequency entered in a memory during a stand-by mode, before the receiver is switched to the operating mode in which the received radio signal for a selected frequency is fed to a reproduction stage. An Independent claim for a device with a receiver and an associated control unit is also included.
