Control of hydrostatic gearing

A composition, comprising a species selected from a multivalent transition metal ion, its complex and a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is new. An Independent claim is included for accelerating in vivo oxidation of ethanol involving: (a) preparing the composition; (b) forming the composition into a configuration, selected from a solution, suspension, gel, capsule, tablet, caplet, transdermal patch or a nasal spray; and (c) administering the composition in vivo by a route corresponding to the selected configuration. Alternatively, the method comprises: (1) preparing the composition; and (2) administering the composition in vivo orally, nasally, rectally, transdermally, intravenously, intraperitoneally, or by a stomach lavage.
