Gas turbine power plant and method therefor

The power plant includes a gas turbine (1). Hot exhaust gases (8) from the turbine pass through a diffuser (2) and a connector piece (3) to a waste heat boiler (4). Cooled exhaust gases (9) pass through a further connection piece (5,6) to the chimney (10) which discharges the exhaust gases high above the ground. A diffuser (7) may be mounted near the top of the chimney to reduce the gas velocity to a minimum before discharge.
