  "textContent": "A meter for a vehicle is disclosed which comprises a scale plate made of a transparent material and having scales thereon, a guide plate disposed along a backside of the scale plate for guiding light, an actuator having a shaft passing through holes formed on the scale plate and the guide plate, a pointer supported on the shaft at a base thereon, and lighting means for lighting the scale plate up through the guide plate. According to the present invention the lighting means comprises a first light source for supplying light in a thickness direction of the guide plate to the scale plate through the guide plate, and a second light source disposed in a radial inside or outside of the first light source for supplying light into an end of the guide plate so that light supplies to the scale plate through the guide plate, wherein the colour of light supplied by the second light source is different from that of the first light source. With such a construction of a meter for a vehicle an improved visibility and novel appearance is realized.",
