Twist-beam axle and method of making the cross-beam

The dead beam axle includes two dead beams connected by a cross-bearer consisting of a strip with an inlaid, partly open center sector (5), to which tubular closed ends (6, 7) are connected on both sides. The cross-bearer is produced from a flat plate of suitable shape, which is deformed into a tube and joined along the adjacent edges (12, 13).
