Method for driving style detection
DRIVE
November 13, 2002
The method involves measuring braking deceleration during braking processes and automatically classifying the driver's style depending on the measurement values obtained. The behavior of the motor vehicle is adapted by varying the control signals to the engine and the control signals to the gearbox. Engine and gearbox controls are varied in terms of the rate of torque build-up, the rate of torque decay and the gear change characteristic. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a motor vehicle with a device for automatic classification of the driving style of a driver and a controller.
