A control system for a vehicle having an internal combustion engine with a turbocharger, and a transmission, in which the transmission, which can change a speed of the engine in accordance with a gear ratio, is coupled to the internal combustion engine, in which an output torque is increased in accordance with an increase in a boost pressure, for controlling a torque to be input to the transmission from the internal combustion engine to be equal to, or less than, a preset allowed torque, is characterized by having torque control means for setting, in accordance with the boost pressure of the turbocharger, a torque reduction amount from a torque reducing factor which reduces the input torque to the transmission by absorbing a portion of the torque to be output from the internal combustion engine (Steps S8 and S9).
