Method and device for automatic differential lock actuation in all-wheel-drive vehicles
DRIVE
October 30, 2002
The method involves controlling load-switchable lock couplings for each differential of the vehicle, which has a gearbox. The lock couplings are automatically engaged or disengaged to lock or releases the differential using vehicle parameters. The differential locks are only opened if the load state at the input to the vehicle gearbox changes significantly and/or the vehicle decelerates strongly. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a drive train for an all-wheel vehicle.
