Cooling of a gas turbine

The cooling system is fitted to a turbine (1) with turbine blades (12) on a shaft (8), and with stator blades (14) fixed to the casing. There are inlets (48) at the free ends of some of the stator blades, for coolant. The stator blades are behind the first row of turbine blades. The turbine is air-cooled. A coolant channel has an inlet and an outlet in the turbine shaft.
