Safety device for a pedestrian

Device for protecting a pedestrian comprises an airbag, a collision sensor (3), a cold gas generator, an ignition device (7) and a processor (5) for processing signals from the collision sensor and controlling the airbag ignition device. The collision sensor comprises an acceleration sensor for measuring acceleration both in the vertical and the horizontal directions.
