Cylinder head gasket

The metal cylinder head seal has a bead (5) around each combustion chamber bore and the spring excursion of which is limited by deformation limiters (7,8) extending concentrically to the hole. The height and/or width profiling of the deformation limiters is designed to correspond to a middle range between compression pressure increase by heat expansions and compression pressure decrease through component rigidities. The height of the deformation limiter in the land region between two adjacent combustion chamber bores is decreased in relation to the height in the region of adjacent screw through-holes.
