Freight container

The freight container has an entry ramp (15) hinged around a horizontal axis and when swung into the transporting position lies inside the container in such a way that the opening of the load space can be closed off by doors or suchlike unhindered. In the transporting position the entry ramp by its upper side finishes flush with the adjoining floor surface (14) of the load space. A cut-out or recess is formed in the container's floor region adjacent to the opening of the load space to accommodate the entry ramp in its swung-in transporting position.
