Control device for motor vehicle speed governor

The method involves reducing the engine power and/or torque and/or exerting a braking torque to maintain a predefined speed limit value if the current vehicle speed approaches or exceeds the speed limit value. The speed limit regulation measures are temporarily inhibited in the event of an exceptional situation, e.g. if the vehicle speed exceeds the limit value by a defined amount. (2) A motor vehicle with a regulation device in accordance with the invention.
