The device has a base (4) carrying a light source (3) attached to the roof lining (2), a reflector wedge (5) with its apex opposite the light source and an inward curved reflector surface (6) and an annular light panel (8) enclosing the internal volume (7) between the reflector wedge and base and via which reflected light passes out to the roof lining.
