A sound insulating weather strip (10) for automobile comprising: a hollow seal portion (11) to be attached to a door or a body panel of a car; and a low density foam sponge material (17) comprising a rubber of synthetic resin, and provided at a region of said hollow seal portion (11) which, in use, is held and compressed between the door and the body panel when the door is closed.
