Authorisation method for communication with a data bus

Method for authorizing connection of selected external devices (5, 6) to a data bus (1) so that data can be exchanged between the external devices and a communications interface (4). The data bus receives characterizing information about the external devices via a user interface (3) and transmits it to an authorization system (2) which compares the information with corresponding information from the devices themselves to determine if the devices can communicate with each other. An Independent claim is made for a data bus with an authorization system for controlling communication between external devices and the data bus.
